Auto gradation on em5 (samples)

This may be helpful for those wondering about the auto gradation setting on the em5. Personally, I find it quite useful for pulling up shadows without doing any PP later. But the em5 normal setting is also good enough, plus there is in-camera editing which allows the same effect to be done later (shadow adjust).

becos i'm an outdoors person, i take jungle/nature shots mostly. so i can't help post other types of shots (also lazy to go take them!).

the photos below are purposely underexposed severely to try out the auto gradation which helps to preserve highlights while pulling up shadows. and i picked scenes with very high difference/contrast between dark and light.

1. gradation - norm

2. gradation - auto

3. norm

4. auto

5. norm

6. auto

they are not the normal settings i shoot with! just to try out the auto gradation only.

and two more below with no exposure bias
7. norm

8. auto

It may not be perfect magic, but it works well and saves time especially with the in-camera editing feature (kinda like nikon's dlighting).
