Re: D800 and Six Sigma

Hey PaleRider. I can walk, chew gum and talk on the phone all at the same time and text if I have to.

My point is there are too many defects with end state products that we continuously pay for and accept. My statement isn't for Nikon to become Six Sigma. I don't necessarily agree with the entire process but I do agree with the end result of low defects in the market place. I am not promoting an operational model just a consumer expectation.

Every six sigma black-belt whom I have had dealings with has had trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time.

An astonishing load of bunkum frankly, and rarely showing tangiable manufacturing benefits which could not be attributed to changes occurring elsewhere in the process, independent of 6sig.

Manufacturing dreamt up by clerks with no practical understanding. Globally regarded as a burden by all except those clerks and the fools who believe them.
