Today at BB, store pick-up, the WB150f.
It is fantastic, so far. For the price I get the reach I may need on vacation.
Wifi works great with no data cost to use it (remote viewfinder, download originals to my tablet).
Emailed my fiirst pic from the camera, amazing.
From 1 to 10 I give it a value rating of 20.
I tried it in a store several months ago, and I didn't like the picture quality, far too mushy.
The basis of your in-store evaluation is flawed. you can not judge image quality on an LCD.
Not withstanding the DPReview comparison shots, I can report the 14 MP WB150F images transferred to my tablet via Wifi are quite sharp and have better WB than my D5100 of D7000.
My purpose in this thread was to show how i filled my need to get a bit more reach, and the WB150F fits alongside my TL500 in my small belt carry all.
And when I get my EX2F it will replace my TL500 in my belt bag.
Thanks for your response.
And a little later I saw thet dpr has comparison pictures of this camera which are >
pretty poor, confirming my in-store taken pictures.
Too bad it's not got a better sensor like the WB850f. The 150f is quite light weight, nice grip etc. so pity the pictures aren't better.
I tried the WB850f a few weeks ago too: noticeably heavier, much better picture quality, also feels good in the hand, I like the menus, zooming into a picture and scrolling it when reviewing seems much faster than with the EX1/WB2000/ST70 (some of the Samsung cameras I tried over past 2 years). Not sure how fast the WB150f is at this but the low picture quality made me disinterested in anything else about it, so I didn't take notice.
And off-topic here I suppose but perhaps of use to those contemplating a good compact, like an EX2, and wondering if the small Pentax Q could be used instead (that was my view of why it might be interesting some months ago): It's quite small, and the buttons I think are too small, too close together, and some are almost flat with the housing, they should stick out more. I don't have big hands, so this must be an issue for many people.
