First time photographing fireworks

I wanted to try fireworks and had the chance with a smaller show last night in Rolesville NC. I am currently in between wide-angle lenses and so used a nifty fifty set at infinity on a 7D in bulb mode at ISO160 and F9 affixed to a sturdy tripod. I used a remote shutter release to control exposure length.
Things I learned:
1. I need a wide-angle lens
2. Timing is everything
3. Fireworks are fun!

I think this is one of my favorites. 2 second exposure

This is a good example of missed timing. 3 second exposure

These worked out well enough
1 second exposure

4 second exposure

Then there is this one. I really like how chaotic it is. 5 second exposure

Hints and feedback are most welcome!
