I considered the matter as well and I came to the conclusion that the 55-210 would have greater potential - optically speaking. So I picked up a 55-210 yesterday and late last night I took a few test shots in the house.

Well knock me down and call me Susan. First impressions of the 55-210 is it is in the same league as my Sigma 50-150 f2.8! The 55-210 is very light and it handles extremely well on the tiny NEX-5 body. It's hard to believe for the money, size and weight how good this lens is.

For less than the 18-200 you can buy the 55-210 along with the WA and fish eye converter for the 16mm f2.8 and still have money left over!

That's what I did. Didn't want to spend the money on the 18-200. So I got the 55-210, the 16mm, lea2, and the wide angle converter. I think I still came out ahead and the 2.8 16 mm should be pretty solid.
