Re: Top 10 Minolta legacy lenses!

Note that the 50mm f3.5 does only 1:2 magnification whereas the other go to 1:1. This is fine for flowers, coins, etc. I used to own the f3.5 and it is fantastic, razor sharp with incredible smooth bokeh. It has a certain je-ne-sais-quoi.

It is not easy to find anyway whereas the 50mm f2.8 was the bread and butter macro lens and ubiquitary.

There is little difference between the 50mm f2.8s. The D coating suppose to be optimized for Digital but in reality it is barely noticeable. The D is last the one and the RS was before that and are younger and statistically will last longer.

Hello all,

I am interested in the 50mm macro

What would be the best option/version:
Minolta - AF 50 F3.5 Macro
Minolta - AF 50 F2.8 Macro
Minolta - AF 50 F2.8 Macro RS
Minolta - AF 50 F2.8 Macro D

On Dyxum notations... They seem very similar...

Is there any version to avoid?

PS. Actually I have the 50mm/1.7

Many thanks in advance for you suuport
