A900 vs A77 low & very high ISO

Today I got the chance to compare my A77 with my friend's A900. We placed the cameras side by side on sturdy tripods, used cable release and MLU for the A900. Same exposure for both cameras.

We put a Sony G 70-400 mm on each cameras, at 70 mm for the A77 and zoomed in a bit to match the A77 crop for the A900. Aperture was f:11. Shutter speed was 1/60 sec for the ISO 200 pictures and 1/2000 sec for the ISO 6400 images.

Conclution: The differences are neglible for real world photography, even when using ISO 6400, where the A900 shows a bit cleaner results with the same amount of detail -- but then you have to enable MLU for the A900. Same conclution as from my earlier tests.

Sample pictures developed with Lightroom 4.1 in the next tread.
