How many lenses do you really need?

I went out today to take a few shots at the old Japanese air field on Saipan and ended up using 5 different lenses and if it hadn't started raining I would have used 1 or 2 more. Nothing great but I sure like having different lenses in my bag.

I really like all the lenses except the 45-200. It seems soft to me and at some point I'll get something better.

First 3 with the 7-14

Trees growing on top of a blast wall That is built around a bomb storage bunker. It is about 6 meters high and is about 20 meters away. Being below the top of the concrete wall gave me this interesting perspective of the trees now growing on top of it. I call it a wall but it's about 20 meters thick.

Entrance to a bomb storage room that the blast walls protect.

Double steal doors and the overhead rail used to get the bombs in and out.

These 2 with the 14-45

Anti aircraft gun.

Entrance to a building that is no longer there.

5 with the 25

Japanese tank.

Bottom of the outer left door.

My wife and dog in the doorway. The walls and roof are concrete and about 3 meters thick.

Some of the tracks inside the bunker.

The Oly 45

Some birds flying around a flame tree on the complex.

The 45-200

Put on the long lens for a different perspective of the tank.

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.
