Excellent selection!

1. 50mm 2.8 macro - Very underrated. The sharpest lens I own, especially good on APS bodies

I have the f/3.5, and it is the sharpest lens I own. Great light walk-around lens.

2. 400mm f4.5G - Never failed me, fully sharp wide open

My next lens, lol!

3. 300mm f4.0G - As good as the 400G except for fringing/CA. Much easier to carry around.

Gonna hold out for the 2.8 G SSM, haha.

4. 1.4TC - Extra reach for the 300/400/70-200 without loss of IQ

Yes indeed!

5. 28-135mm - If I could only have one walk around/landscape lens for the A900. Might change my mind if I had the 17-35G or to 20-78G.

My one walk-around on my a850, despite owning the other two . (We know you meant to write 28-70G . Don't feel bad though, 10 out of 9 people are dyslexic to some degree.)

6. 100mm f2.0 - New life on the NEX-7 as a relatively small, fast 150mm. Wish I had a 28mmf2 or 35mm f2 to go along with it.

Very sharp corner-to-corner wide open. One of the best in the system.

7. 135mm f2.8 - Same as (6) except 200mm on the NEX

"Pocket rocket", another keeper.

8 50mm f1.4 - New life as the goto portrait lens on the NEX

Mine flares easily wide open, really have to watch that, but otherwise very good IQ. Really need to invest in a better hood. This goes well with the 35-70 and 100-200, as they all share the same 49 mm filter thread. Great size for shooting through wire fences at the zoo, e.g.

9 100-300mm f4.5-5.6 APO - Underrated. Sharp and small. The one lens that always ends up going on vacation when I fly.

Yeah, I just got off a 24-hour flight and wish I had taken this instead of the 80-200/2.8. I think from now on my "flight case" is going to carry the 28-105 and this one. And the 50 for low light. And maybe the 17-35 G... lol.

10. Great lens I never had but wish I did 135mm STF, 85mm f1.4, 200mm f2.8G

Superb choices all. The STF is the one sine qua non of the alpha system; or rather, it is the one lens that compels us to stay in the system. No other system has it.

Get that 200 G while the prices are still under a grand. It is one helluva piece of glass, haha!

Cheers from Jacksonville,
