Custom WB & Monotone?
I have recently converted my 40D over to InfraRed using the LifePixel Enhanced Color filter option.
I am using Custom White Balance in the camera to eliminate red-cast from my images. I noticed in the 40D user guide it states to use an image not taken in monotone mode to select as the Custom White Balance image. Does this apply only if I'm shooting JPEGs or does it also apply to RAW captures? In other words, can WB be set based on RAW capture while in monotone mode since all the colour data is there, just not on the embedded jpeg used during playback mode?
I like to keep the camera in monotone mode, RAW format for my IR work...hoping to eliminate the need to switch back to a colour mode just to make the WB capture, then back to monotone for my shots.
