I was recently commissioned to photograph an event at a gallery in London.
Following the event I was contacted by a manufacturer who has products used in the design of the gallery. They are interested in purchasing licenses to use some of the images.
The contract that I have with the original client does not grant them exclusive use of the images.
My question is whether it is likely that I am required to obtain an agreement from the artist whose work was being exhibited during the shoot, prior to selling a license for a third party to use the images?
Incidentally, the photographs are of the space which contains the art rather than individual artworks.
Many thanks in advance.
