Best Fast FX Prime for outdoor full-body modeling shots?

Hello friends,

I currently own a D7000, looking to upgrade to FX soon. at the moment 35mm 1.8 DX is the king of values (no doubter).

I am putting together a set for my future FX, just got myself a 70-200 VR II. I am looking at either 14-24 f2.8 or 16-35 f4 VR as wide angle, thats another debate.

I have decided to pass on the 24-70 2.8, I would love to replace it with one fast prime. Which one would be the best? I don't know if 50mm is wide enough for outdoor modeling + scenery. I could go broke for a 35mm 1.4G, but am scared of the problems with distortion.

my real question is: which serves better? 35mm or 50mm? it doesnt seem like its alot of difference, and I am probably being picky, but would love any kind of input, as I respect all the professional opinions here. Thanks in advance!
