I have a D800 that was delivered June 14th. It has absolutely no issues with focus. I had posted before than 9 other cameras within my group of friends were also not effected, nor had any lock-ups occurred.

Way back in the days where the D200 was the Eigth Wonder, there was also a lot of distress about the banding issue. Some of them really had a problem, but most, like mine, were OK. The problem occurred mostly in very high contrast situations. Eventually, the cameras with the most obvious banding issue got fixed by Nikon.

Nowadays, you hardly ever hear about the issue, and except for lack of high ISO, the D200 is recognized as one of the better old cameras.

We're very glad we didn't wait!

May your D800 live long and prosper
