Metering too ...

When you re-compose it is my understanding that the metering is not locked automatically. This is important if you want to expose on the target .... especially when using spot metering. You can of course use lock the exposure before you re-compose.

For someone who uses the outer AF's a lot, especially in conditions where spot metering is critical, having useful outer AF's is important. For that reason I have been hoping Nikon would someday spread those cross type AF's out, or add more and put them outside. The Canon 1 bodies have this feature ... I used to have a 1D MkIII.
