Re: NX20 Freezing (not the lock up issue)

Ok I thought I'd give a bit of an update.

The replacement camera came in today, and wanted to compare it to my experiences with the first one...

When I used my transcend card originally I got 2 shots and then the third would lock up the camera. With the new camera that didn't happen, this suggests that the camera was old, or new camera's are shipping with the updated firmware. I did the firmware update just to be sure and shooting in single shot with the Transcend card I was happy to shot at about 1.5-1.75 seconds between shots with no prolonged lock ups over 20 shots (there was a 2 second delay on shot 4 but I think that is the buffer filling). With the old camera I could get 3 shots and then I'd start having slow downs, but I could keep shooting every 2 seconds or so. With a new Sandisk Extreme 30mb/s card it's basically 1.25-1.5 seconds between shots, it's now just as fast as my NX11 (give or take). If you turn on a 1 second quickview and if the processing message didn't appear you'd never notice. Ran off 20 shots with no issues.

This gives some credibility to the other camera being defective. So to the other that are having significant lock ups with the NX20, one look at getting a Sandisk or comparable card that is heat resistant, with a good write speed. Also if you notice that you are getting really bad write times, like taking 3-4 shoot and having a wait of several seconds then you may consider getting a replacement. I can say that the new camera out of the box is 10 times better preforming then what I had 5 days ago.
