I concur that the 16-45 f/4 is a great landscape lens when keeping funds in check. That's great range and fixed f/4, though it curiously extends as you zoom out to 16mm! If you want to spend a bit more the 18-135WR is handy for silent focus and weather protection.

My happy place is with the kit 18-55WR plus Sigma's 15 fisheye for the extreme wide shots, and the DA55-300 on the long end. Some landscapes can take some magnifying and that lens is excellent, quite sharp if a bit slow past 200mm. Here it is at 60mm:

Thanks Jim for the reply and photo! So you really like the 18-55 WR kit lens? Never thought about just going with the kit lens.
