Thats what I lived with for years, 70-200f4IS and 300f4+1.4x. Got some great stuff with that. Over time I tired of the teleconverter as I shot wildlife more than before and graduated to primes as I did more action shooting.. The 300f4+1.4x sufficed and I liked the option of 300f4 on darker days which you wouldn't have with the 100-400. They all have their merits, and even the 100-400 is a good choice if you don't like messing with teleconverters.

There is no other photography like Wildlife
