Re: Carsten - Re: CMD-Key

Hello Mark,

Thanks for taking the time. I think there are two copies of the same images on that post, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yes that is right, the second Photo have a bit less red.

OK, what I don't understand is how you arrived at a different WB than I did.

It is depend on which Area You have set the rectangle for the WB.
For a Example look the follow 2 SnapShots with the visible rectangle Area:

I have selected two difference Areas for the WB.
So the Values for R B G1 G2 varies a bit...

I opened up the RAF file with the gray card and when pressing down the CMD Key I made a rectangle.

OK.

Than I hit the Apply button, but the values you have are different than those I got.
I think this is the difference, a proper WB is key. So why the difference?

You must select the same rectangle Area as i.

If You have set the WB and You want the same WB for all follow Photos You must Push and Hold the CMD-Key and click with the Mouse on the D-Button.

For some reason the CMD Key on the left side of my keyboard isn't working, so when I tried the right side CMD Key I was able to get results similar to what you achieved.

Mmmmh... ...if that, Your Keyboard is defective !

Keep in mind that much depends on where you make your selection and no two places will yield the exact same results.

Yes that is what i mean with the 2 SnapShots in this Post.

Do you have a particular setting you use for all your pics or do you adjust it as necessary for each picture?

I have only some "Start-Presets" for the FinePix F700, S2, S3 and S5 Pro.
Depend on which Photo i must set few or all Parameters new in RPP.

So i have no fixed Workflow with RPP.
The Photos there i make are to different to use only one Preset or WB in RPP.

It is the same if You use a Grey-Card for a Photo that is shot at Sunset !

I assume Black Point works much like Blacks on Adobe CS, correct?

I don't know.

Thanks again. The results are quite good,

but I find the interface more difficult to work with.

Yes You need a bit Time to work with this Key-Interface.

As well, I can't enlarge the image the way I can with CS, and this I really struggle with.

Yep, me too.

Regards: Carsten
