70-300VR on the D7000
I took my Nikon 70-300VR out for a shoot today for the first time in quite a while. I've been using it on my Nikon V1 for extended reach, but today needed my D7000 to capture rapidly moving kite surfers in less than ideal conditions. Although the lens is reputed to be quite soft at 300mm, I find it sharpens up acceptably when stopped down to f8 or so. Here are a few captures from the day, as well as a bird in flight also with the 70-300 (heavily cropped).
