Model releases are a sticky subject. My advice? ALWAYS get one. That not only covers any usage which doesn't require one, but usage which does not.

Generally, anyone who is not signed with an agency will have no problem signing a blanket, commercial use release. Agency tests are, by convention, NOT released as it is industry practice that both parties can use the photos for promotion. Commercial shoots with agency models usually have a voucher and the agency has already negotiated a rate and usage with the end client or ad agency.
