I can't believe the ignorance in this thread. So let's say you take a photo of someone and post it on the web. Now the person sees the image and since there was no model release decides they are going to sue the photographer. The first thing she has to do is hire a lawyer. Lawyers don't work for free. $150 to $250 an hour. Most want a retainer before accepting a case. For a case like this we are talking a few thousand down payment. Now we go to court. The injured party has to prove a financial loss from the photo being published. How much will that be? I doubt most people would be able to prove a loss that would even pay for the lawyer's fees. And exactly how is an image posted on the Internet going to cause you a financial loss???
