How likely is it for Canon to use the Sony 1" or their own version of 1" for the s100 successor that might come out in 6-8 months time?

Pretty pointless when they have just developed their own "mid size" sensor for the G1X. They are hardly likely to spend a fortune developing a new sensor format and not use it in other products (especially as it has such excellent performance).

How quick is Canon to adapt to changes? I know they were quite slow with coming out with a mirrorless product.

Were? I think we are still waiting for them to announce their mirrorless effort, but I would be most surprised if it did not employ a G1X format sensor.
