Prosumer APSC -- end of era?

Looks like $1500 D600 is real (with Sony's FF 24 MP next generation sensor)

This will force the APSC downwards towards mid and entry-level.

Is Pentax ready for this trend? If not, they have to get back to the drawing board, and do it very fast. Timing is critical. This will force Canon and Sony to follow up with lower priced FF.

Another thing: IBIS will be costly for such a large sensor. Canon and Nikon in-lens stabilization here pays off.

I think this is very serious thread to any APSC camera Pentax were planning as K-5 replacement. How to compete with high priced APSC when FF is $1500 (and Canon and Sony will respond, maybe even with lower prices).

Nikon has been very aggressive this year ..
