Re: OMD Black VS Silver

My silver body-only arrived today, pre-ordered April 4 from Adorama.

I also got the silver 40-150mm zoom with it. They look gorgeous together.

Several times over the past couple of months, I'd been tempted to get a black kit because it seemed that they were more readily available, but I'm glad I didn't. The silver version is extremely attractive.

I'm sure the black version is too, but I wanted silver for a change after decades of nothing but black cameras.

A few initial thoughts about the E-M5:

Yes, the strap lugs bother me, but I don't know where else they could have been placed.

--The ergonomics are OK, but the Sony NEX-7 felt much better in my hand. Too bad its lenses are too big, and too few, and that its RAW files are 25Mb each. The buttons are small and close together, but that's the price of compactness.

--I haven't heard the hum and had actually forgotten about it before being reminded of it here.

--Everybody says this, but the E-M5 is surprisingly small. I can't wait to take it home and do a side-by-side comparision with my Nikon D90.
