Computer Shuts Off

I am having this problem every since I picked up a virus at DC Resource some time ago even though I have since formatted and re loaded all my software my computer has never been right after this event,

I am at a loss as to why my computer is shutting down on me in the middle of working on photos in Photoshop CS5 as it just shuts down.

Once my computer dies in the middle of working I can not restart it until I let it sit a while making me believe that it may be overheating but from what?

My computer is a self built i7 Quad Core with 12 GB of OCZ Gold Memory on an Asus P6T6 WS Revolution MB and a Saphire Radeon HD 3870 Video Card.

Housed in a Coolmaster Praetorian Aluminum Mid Tower case using a Corsair 650 TX power supply.

Could my problem be my Video card because when it shuts down and wont restart I get a NO VIDEO window that appears and I can not shut my computer down to explain just what the window says or I will have to wait sometime before finishing this inquiry.

My monitor is a Nec MultiSync PA 271P and I no longer can calibrate it so I am doing something wrong.

Because of my age (78 ) and no longer have the flexibility to work on my computer

nor do I seem to be able to do anything challenging in the way of new software or deciphering computer problems I am looking for some advice into what may be my problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
