for sure fuji seems to forget the consumer law at times, it is established that this is an inherent problem therefore they have to cover it does not matter how long it is out of warranty as long as I'm the original owner and it can not be substituted to wear. They already have already ignored to notify existing customer of this problem and therefore did not give this customer the chance to return the camera within the normal warranty time.

Anyway it costs them more to fight this out in court than just go ahead and fix it (including reputation loss).

Problem is when you are not the original purchaser and you have no invoice you can produce. Of cause this automatically refers back to the place of purchase (not Fuji direct, depenting country).
