Really nice shots!!! I'm curious if you used a tripod or are these hand held. I'm struggleilng with the shapness of many of my shots and appreciate what you say about the exagerations of minor imperfections. Frankly, I think my issue with sharpness is me and not the camera but am about to try the laborious task of confirming focus. I don't really care about the reported left sided autofocus issues as much as issues with front or back-focusing with center focus. Nice Job!!!!

When I first got my 'first' D800 (it had those right AF issues) I was concerned when some of my shots were not very sharp. I then worked on my technique of holding my camera (elbows close to body etc etc), holding my breath (for slow shutter speeds), and my shots became much better. I think there is a youtube video that talks about shooting technique.

I definitely think that technique is even more paramount with this camera due to the high resolution. This is good advice; my guess is many people buying this camera have probably just never been exposed to their own flaws as they've not used something of such high resolution.

I remember renting a Leica S2 for a weekend and struggled with getting sharp shots in the beginning.
