How to shoot fireflies?

I want to shoot images of fireflies at dusk on my lawn. That is, on grass. Not flying about. They fire off and it is quite pretty.

Can anyone recommend an aperture and bulb time setting? Each bug fires off for about a second. It looks like about 30 seconds gets enough but, a minute total would be safer to get the most. Also, any other settings to turn on or off for bulb exposures?
Thanks!

A700 and probably a Minolta 20 2.8, or Sony 28, and 35 plastics for lenses. Tripod, anti shake off.
