This circular banding 'issue' is really a non-issue. This circular pattern only occurs when you push almost-crushed blacks which under reasonable shooting is never going to happen. Its not something Samsung should waste time fixing because it is very much the same as shooting with a lens cap on.

Just shoot at a higher sensitivity instead... you'll get better noise performance. HDR is a bit of a poor argument when the best dynamic range is achieved by only a small amount of underexposure.

Sony and Samsung do it. However it does have a very unique (psychadelic?) effect that could be used for something :P.

Anyway, this beats the 5d Mk II's grid noise pattern which occurs quite far from absolute black in the RAW files.
