Either choice is good...but what do you really want?

As others have said, either camera and lenses will suit you just fine...
You are obsessing about the gear...get past that right away.

In your advanced digital photo class, I doubt there will be much discussion about the gear...after all, these are just tools.

You say you've mastered the 60D? operating it will be subconscious and you can concentrate on making great images...if the shots are not very good, the camera was not at fault; if the shots are great, it wasn't due to your choice of camera...
