I picked up a Zenitar 16mm -- should prove to be interesting in NYC.

Now the next question.... photo backpack or sling the SLR around my shoulder for days LMAO!

16 mm will be good to have. Keep in mind that if you are on a tour bus or boat you probably won't be wanting to change lenses much and will want some flexibility. You may not want to do the tourist thing, but unless you have already done it I guarantee you will be glad you did both the bus and the boat tours. You can get off and back on the bus; it is a good way to get around. When you hop off put the appropriate prime on your camera. The pkg includes lower and upper Manhattan, Brooklyn, the night lights, and the boat, with 3 days to use it. You will have plenty of time to do the upper and lower and night in one day and you will end up in Times Square at night. We did Brooklyn the next morning and then went on the boat tour.

I used a medium size Lowpro sling pack and loved it. It held my camera, a zoom lens, 15 mm prime, 35 mm prime, a bottle of water, maps and odds and ends. If you just have a couple of primes you can put them in your pocket. Have fun. NYC is a fantastic experience.
