Re: dead/hot pixel

I just bought a used D200. It's in good shape and works fine, except for about a dozen dead pixels.

I've been calling and searching around to see what can be done for this. A D200 user in the Netherlands reported that his local Nikon service center fixed it for him, while he waited, for about $50. The local Nikon authorized shops I called were not set up to do remapping. There is a Russian site with a leaked RAR of the needed software, but a special lens and white screen are also needed.

Finally, calling Nikon USA, all they can tell me is that repair of a D200 runs between $71 and $300.

Is there anyone here that's had their D200 remapped?

Thanks,
Paul
