Impressive that they've got it so small, but less appealing to me for it. I find the Canon S90/95/100 a bit too small and fiddly; the X10 and XZ-1 are about as small as I'd like. If Sony sacrificed a 28mm or wider lens (for 4:3) to get it so small, that's an especially poor tradeoff, IMHO.

I'm glad Sony is pushing in this direction: I think there's a market for larger sensored compacts as a complement to interchangeable lens systems, just as there was a market among enthusiasts for compact 35mm film cameras (Olympus XA and Contax T-series come to mind) -- with digital making it possible to achieve good IQ in a small package while incorporating a useful zoom. The RX100 just isn't that camera for me.
