If you have no assistant, and I'm guessing Nikko wasn't traveling with one, a reflector is next to useless unless you have a light-stand with a boom arm and a Bogen Super Clamp. Besides, I don't see any major problems with shadows in his images.

Very fine images, Nikko. Bravo!! Number 3 is my favorite. The bokeh of the 45 1.8 is superb. Nice post. Must resist the desire to buy an OM-D as I wait for the GH3.
