Thanks for the comments. I shoot a mixed bag and for the most part the D200 has excelled. I shoot 3-4 local theater productions a year and better high ISO would be nice, but with 2.8 lenses I rarely need to go past 800. As my granddaughter gets older I suspect I'll be shooting soccer and dance recitals again. I also shoot tons of travel so lighter weight would be better. Lately I have been shooting some landscape so resolution would help. But after 6.5 years and 60k shots, I feel totally integrated with the D200, like a old friend (or my F100). However, D7000 and my 16-85mm might be a very nice general purpose combo.

Basically, I have decided to pass the D300 by and would have bet money that the D400 would have been out last year. The D800 is compelling, but I'm not sure I want to deal with the file size. There is always the option of waiting for the D300 replacement, but at $1k the D7000 is looking pretty appealing. Not as fast AF or usable as the D200, but clearly better IQ.And pretty good video.
