advise on first macro lens appreciated..

Hey all,

I am wanting to buy my first Macro lens and would like some information/advice on which focal length and lens are overall best to start out with. I am looking hard at the Tamron AF60mm F2 as it will be going on an a77 and seemingly I could use it for an indoor portrait lens as well. I dont want to get inundated with lighting setups yet just advice on a good starter Macro lens and maybe if anyone feels like it the pertinent specs and how they affect the images and shooting technique. For instance I notice the Sal100 has a much closer minimum focus distance than the Tamron 90mm..
