A very late reply, sorry!!

Hi there, I have been a bit slack in replying to your did not ask me to.....but my fractured ankle slowed me down a lot!!

A bit of 'off topic' stuff! You mention some interesting things! You mention some of my favourite spots, Canberra and the South Coast of NSW. I enjoy both very much, even though a Victorian through and through!

Have spent a lot of time in the (not so) Sunshine State (Queensland for O/S Nikon friends) and in fact my wife and I had a wonderful holiday in the Whitsundays last year.
We also visited Port Douglas and Palm Cove as well as Noosa.

My wife has a brother at Gatton, where we are off to in August, coupled with a few days in one of our favourites, Mooloolabah. We have also recently stayed at the Mantra in the Gold Coast.

The fractured ankle required a cancellation of our long planned, five week overseas trip to Europe!!

As well as being a Nikon addict, my addition extends to Apple ( we have 7 Apple devices) and GOLF! As a member of Barwon Heads Golf Club see

I am able to enjoy full reciprocity with all the Australian 'Royals' including Royal Canberra and Royal Queensland. In fact, apart from Royal Perth, I have played them all!!

Have also played St Andrews as well as courses in the US. Luckily I have flown Concorde from New York's Kennedy to London. New Zealand is another of my favourite golf and photographic destinations.

Now about Football, we are very parochial and follow Aussie Rules aka AFL and living in Ocean Grove (20 minutes from Geelong) support The Cats! Three premierships recently, they have done well. Our Sydney family where I play Royal Sydney, are at Neutral Bay, and are all Rugby mad!! It's mad to me too!!

Getting finally back to photography, my D7000 and D5100 with my heap of lenses, Nikon and otherwise, are doing just fine!

Still enjoy, my 'cheapie' the great Nikon 18-105VR!!

I have been a Queenslander on the Gold Coast for 15 years and still love it even though there are more Victorians (and Kiwis) up here than locals

I actually spent most of my childhood living in Canberra and the NSW Southcoast and I still support NSW in the State of Origin Rugby League even though they have not won a series for 7 years.
