What was the fault with your control dial? Mine rear dial seems a bit loose and there is a lot of play before any clicking takes place,is this normal?
With mine, it was the interface between the iFn functions of the focus ring and the NX100 - turning it would give very erratic results, with the progression along the selected control not matching the turn of the ring - a steady, sensible-speed one direction turn would have the values alternately stalling, skipping, reversing etc., apparently at random. The contacts were cleaned and checked, and you'd imagine it was a lens issue but no, the lens worked fine on an NX10! Since I also noticed how much I'd be using the top dial in playback and had read plenty of posts about it becoming erratic too, though mine was fine (as it should have been, being brand new!) I eventually decided to return the camera and skip this model.
As far as I recall, I noticed no problems with the rear dial - the apparent looseness/responsiveness of this control can vary widely between the various brands and designs that use such a control, so your opinion of it might be affected by the characteristics of any you've used before.
Same with my 20-50zoom focus ring and the NX100 upper dial. It's very irritating and frustating. The rear dial is fine.
