As far as I know, all of Sony's HX cameras are JPEG-only, and Sony's JPEG engine pretty much always produces images that look like paintings at pixel peeping magnification, even with the best lenses you can get. So this indicates nothing either good or bad about Clear Image Zoom.

When a full review of the A57 is produced, I'm sure that particular feature will be thoroughly tested.
