So, let's see here. First you complain that 4/3 can't get a shallow DOF, THEN you state that "There's nothing you can do with a 4/3 that you can't do with FF. "

That's correct. Shallow DOF is something you can do with FF that you can't with 4/3. But FF can do everything that 4/3 can do because all that 4/3 can do is a subset of all that FF can do.

Your assertion that you can't get shallow DOF with 4/3 is quite absurd, given the abundance of examples that prove otherwise:

Here's a portrait done with an m4/3 camera with the Oly 45/1.8 mounted on it (not my photo, just posted as a good example):

For portraiture, I think that's sufficiently shallow DOF. Plus, Oly is coming out with a 75/1.8 lens, which should be a portraitist's and shallow DOF shooter's delight.

As you can see, this lens is still remarkably compact!

There are also ultra-fast lenses like the Noktor 50mm f/0.95 for m4/3, which also deliver very shallow DOF:

http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2010/03/02/first-look-at-the-noktor-50-f0-95-lens-on-the-olympus-e-p2/

So as you can see, you're looking rather foolish in this "4/3 can't do shallow DOF" crusade of yours.

As the saying goes, if you find yourself in a hole, stop digging! That's what most intelligent people would do. Clearly, you're still digging!
