Self-timer on NX100 doesn't refocus

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how is it possible to take a picture of self with the self-timer function? All I found is that once you press the shutter button, the AF locks the focus on the subject that it finds (in this case, the chair), and then when I sit on the chair and I get ready for the shot I come up out of focus.

I need to take some pics for my ID, and it is basically impossible to do it with the self timer function, unless I sit close enough to the camera to press the shutter while I stay in front of the objective and don't move from that position.

All cameras re-focus automatically in self timer mode.. the NX100 doesn't. I've tried all AF modes and all kind of functions. The camera LOCKS the AF once you press the shutter. I had to get a friend to press the shutter for me in self timer mode... hell... then what's the purpose of self-timer, if it doesn't re-focus on the subject?

I've read through the manual but couldn't find any help in there. Has anyone else found the same problem?

Samsung NX100
