Conventionnaly larger sensor have bigger pixels so the general rule of thumb is that large sensor are better at DR and noise

There is no rule of thumb. The differences between different sensor technologies are sufficiently big that even at the same point in time one should not assume anything. Case in point: the sensors in GH2, G3, and E-P3, and now E-M5.

What is the point in trying to figure out the relationship between the size, DR, and noise, when all you have to do is take a look at the samples online for any camera available for purchase?

Shhh, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. People like to compare the differences between imaginary same tech/different size sensors. Just try to stop them.
