Re: Lenses best suited for the Nikon D800

I like to shoot landscape and action, im not married and i dont have kids so portraits are not on top of my list now, further due i travel a lot and i like to have a zoom lens as an all arround lens.

1 I would like a nice wide angle lens for landscape to replace my sigma 08 16 mm.

2 As an all arround lens but i was not convinced with the Nikkor 24 70, i just can't justify paying 1,800.00 USD for an old lens that does not have a VR.

3 I would like to get a good prime lens for Protraits but its not on top of my list
maybe ill get it end of year

Since i have to pay USD 3,000.00 for the D800 and and 2400 for the nikkor 70 200 mm F2.8 VR2 ill be on a thight budget; i can afford only one extra lens but im waitting to see the result of using the nikkor 16 85 DX on the D800 body i understand that the crop factor is 1.2 which will give a a wider angel of view, mabe than i can use it as an all arround lens and delay buying An FX all arround lens, plus i heard that the tamron are releasing a 24 70 mm F2.8 with OS

PS: I dont want to exceed USD 7,000.00 for this year, so i have to decide between a landscape lens or a Zoom FX lens as an all arround lens.
