What I like; having a focus selector switch vs menu

Would like that too, but can't tell from the image. Also having a physical exposure mode switch is nice, but unlikely to be present.

It doesn't look to have a metering switch (spot, CW, matrix) under the shutter button? I use spot metering fairly regularly.

EDIT: Oops, you mean the AF. manual-single-continuous switch,

All Pentax DSLR's have had AF-MF switch, but this one looks like it has AF-C as well, like the upper tier bodies.

not the [#] - [SEL] - [+] switch.

No way to tell about the AF selector without seeing the rear of the camera.

I am still not convinced I would feel confortable without the top LCD.

I think I can give up on that for a smaller body.

I cannot have another camera without a TAv mode or "auto ISO in Manual", but the K-01 has it, so probably the K30 will too.
