Re: Lexar 1000 vs XQD

Whatever the reason, I had tried four different Transcend 32GB 600x CF cards in my D4, and when shooting 10 fps bursts, was consistently getting "Card Err" Reseating the card fixed the problem temporarily, but I ended up exchanging the cards for the Lexar 1000x.

Performance is now seamless. The cards are fast enough to keep up with the insane speeds of the 32 and 16 GB XQD cards I have.

Someone of this forum noted that the CF card slot on the D4 is running in "compatibility mode" (as the whole bus is setup for XQD) and that not all brands of cards react well to this.

Either way, I'm impressed with the Lexar 1000x cards, but I still think the XQD cards are a bit faster.

With those two cards in combination (14-bit RAW lossless to XQD and basic, small JPEG to CF) I'm getting a buffer depth of about 65 images.

I've not run into a situation where I can exhaust this buffer.
