For me, it is my Sony 16-50mm.

What about you?

For the past twenty years, it has been the Minolta 24-85. I've just replaced it with the Sigma 17-70/f2.4-4 OS HSM which I will be taking to Tuscany for the next couple of weeks.

I was lucky to find the "OS" version as it makes a nice complement to my Sigma 70-200/f2.8 OS HSM. This way, I don't need to worry about changing the SteadyShot setting when I switch lenses (only when I go on and off the tripod).

I was tempted by other lenses such as the 16-80 CZ and the 16-105 but they're both considerably more expensive (the CZ is more than double) and the extra stop is desirable for me.

I looked at the 16-50 but the severe vignetting turned me off and I thought 50mm was a too short for a general purpose "walking-around" lens.

My daughter is now enjoying the 24-85 on my old Minolta 7D.
