Frequency Separation --apply image work around for Elements

I have been trying to learn more advanced retouching techniques and really wanted to use the "frequency separation" in Elements. Frequency separation (more or less) separates color and texture into different layers. So for example, if you want to clone a texture from area to another, the clone stamp would normally also clone the color. Using frequency separation you can clone the texture without cloning color. You can also color correct without affecting texture. Elements does not have the "apply image" command (and I cant afford full photoship) which is a crucial step in creating the high frequency (texture) layer. This is a work around.
