I've got an opportunity to buy a Lacie 526 for just a tick over $1000 new at my work. I've got a lousy HP monitor that's developed a severely uneven backlight over the last year and it's just about unusable for color work, critical or not.
Question: Even though the 526 is about 5 years old, is it still a good deal for about $1000? It's new, we've just had it for a floor model over the years. It seems like it would be a GREAT replacement, i've always wanted an Eizo or a Lacie, but they were prohibitively expensive. I'd be calibrating it with an i1 display 2.
