Interesting read. But, hey, if you had spent the 6 months between I proposed the X-Trans pattern and Fujifilm announced their camera, you could have beaten Silkypix by now

Then again, the goal of my naive proposal was to optimize for an output image of about half the input pixels, not full size. Worth trying out, for fun?
