Something that hasn't happened before...

Some odd behavior I need help with:
My 40D is set to shoot AdobeRGB.
I have ACR also set to aRGB.

My recent batch of pictures, when saved from CR2 to .tiff, retain the aRGB color space (16 bit).

When saved again in a different file as a .jpg for sharing, downsizing, or just to display on my TV, upon opening in CS5 I get a Missing Profile warning with the options of "Leave as is", "Assign working RGB", or "Assign profile". I believe assigning a profile is less desirable than converting to profile, so I don't know how to handle this.

I don't believe this has occurred before, so what have I inadvertantly changed to cause it?
